Several factors are considered when establishing a child support order, such as the number of children, if the Obligor has existing child support case(s), and the parents’ incomes.
A modification of child support may be requested by either party. The child support order is reviewed to determine if an adjustment is necessary. Results are not guaranteed, and either party may file an objection if they are dissatisfied with the outcome.
We make every effort to work Obligors who are having difficulty paying their child support obligation, considering their situation. Resources are available through Morrow County Job and Family Services, as well as in our community, to assist with employment and benefits. However, for Obligors who do not make a good faith effort to pay their support or who refuse to cooperate, we use enforcement tools, such as license suspensions, freezing and seizing bank accounts and legal action.
The Morrow County Office of Child Support helps families support their children by establishing and enforcing child support orders, and conducting paternity testing, in a timely, impartial and professional manner.
